Is it ok to let your cat out when it snows? This question came up given the recent snowfall; my answer to this is that yes, generally it should be ok to let your cat out, although I must say mine don’t really seem keen to venture out! If they can walk through the snow and if they do want to go out, that’s ok for me. Pets such as cats and dogs have a self-regulating system in terms of warmth and their coats are usually enough to protect them from the cold; it’s true though that they can get used to the comforts of human houses and they will find the outdoors a bit too ‘Spartan’ for their taste. At the end of the day you know your cat so the best option is to go with your instincts on this matter: but obviously keep them indoors if there is a snowstorm!
